WAYS TO GIVE
The AUT Foundation is committed to creating opportunities for students and advancing education that has a lasting impact. By giving, you help us realise our vision and mission.
You can support us in the following ways:
Support an existing fund
Donate to one of our funds and give students access to support when and where they need it most. These funds offer students enriching opportunities, extending their personal skills and perspectives.
Student Support Fund
Our students experience financial pressures – especially here in Auckland, where the cost of living is the highest in NZ. Our Student Support Fund is a way to make a significant difference to their lives.
Women on Campus Fund
Donate to Women on Campus and help fund an annual scholarship to support students who push boundaries and challenge traditional gender stereotypes via academic and community work.
Brain Health Research Institute Fund
One in three New Zealanders have experienced a traumatic brain injury by age 25. Help support the Brain Health Research Institute to raise awareness and bring together people, services and research.
Other Ways to Give
There are many ways to contribute to AUT. We gratefully accept useful items as well as time, expertise, and knowledge from generous individuals, businesses, and community organisations.
Create a scholarship or award
Support an area you care about or honour someone’s memory with an award or scholarship. Starting around $500 for a one-off gift, you can also make it a permanent legacy with a specific purpose.
Leave a bequest
Make a bequest and you’ll be helping to support opportunities for AUT’s future students. It costs nothing now, but can give you the satisfaction of knowing your passion for education will live on in the future.
Give a major gift
A major gift can leave a legacy of educational outcomes for generations. Get in touch so we can work with you to develop a plan for your gift that aligns with your interests.
Give an item
We’re always grateful to receive gifts like learning tools and equipment, technology, cultural items and art. These items are put to great use by our students and the wider community.
Living in the USA?
If you live in the USA and want to make a donation to AUT, you can do so through Friends of AUT Inc.
A USA-based non-profit organisation, Friends of AUT Inc. acts as a custodian for donations to AUT in the USA and promotes closer ties with our alumni there.

Tax credits
The AUT Foundation is a charitable entity and we issue tax receipts for each gift.
Individuals: If you’re in New Zealand, you can claim a tax credit of 33.3% on donations up to the amount equal to your annual net income. There is no tax credit threshold on cash donations.
Companies: New Zealand companies can claim a tax deduction on all donations up to the amount equal to their annual net income. There is no limit on tax deductions.
We recommend you seek tax advice specific to your circumstances whether you are giving to AUT from New Zealand or abroad.
